Hamilton Khaki Navy Sub Auto Chrono is one of the best value for money automatic chronographs on the market today. Finding an automatic chronograph for under $1000 is not easy. Finding a respected brand, Swiss made, 60 hours power reserve, 300 meters water resistance, sapphire crystal, automatic chronograph for under $1000.00 is almost unheard of.

This watch impressed me on so many levels. First, the value for money proposition is unbeatable. Second, the build quality is great. It feel like a luxury watch. I don’t see corners being cut with the quality of this timepiece. Lastly, the design is very unique and unlike any other watch on the market.

For all of the positives I have to say about this watch there are a few negatives. By far the biggest negative is the strap. Don’t get me wrong it’s very soft and a great quality strap. But the strap is custom made for this watch. Exchanging a rubber strap for a third party strap is impossible. Second negative is the size of this watch. 43mm feels and looks great on my wrist but it won’t fit all wrist sizes.

Here is my review of Jaragar F120561 it’s a Breitling Navitimer homage watch. I bought mine from Gearbest and paid $20 for it (including shipping to Canada).

The watch is fully automatic watch with a cheap Chinese in-house movement. The movement is fairly accurate and even features hand-winding. Overall not a bad watch for the price. However, there is one BIG negative….

I’ve been sent this watch for a review by Moduco watches. They are a watch micro-brand started by 2 collage roommates. Not only does the company have a great story behind it but the watches are great. I was very impressed with this Moduco Automatic. I think the design, the finishes and the movement are all fantastic. At $550 it’s a great deal.

The Moduco Automatic features a stainless steal case, sapphire crystal and Sellita SW200 movement. An impressive set of specs on this awesome time piece.

In this video I’m comparing two totally different watches. One is well respected and loved in the watch community – Seiko 5 SNKK71. The other watch – Daniel Wellington is a fashion watch and is looked down upon in the watch community.

It’s clear that the Seiko 5 is a better watch but I think it’s still a fun idea to compare the 2 watches. I bough mine on Amazon Canada for only $54 USD. It was a deal of the century. I could not be happier or more impressed with this watch. Unfortunately, the prices have changed and now the watch costs closer to $70. I think at that price it still makes sense to pick one up on Amazon or eBay.

Daniel Wellington is a mid range fashion watch. You can pick one up at a department store for around $300 USD but you can find them cheaper online. Before you pick one up see the full review of the watch. There are a lot of great alternatives to the watch that share similar style but offer much better value for money.

In conclusion, Seiko is a much better value for money. It looks pretty good and is subjectively a much better watch.
